FALL BALL COOKOUT, FUND RAISING

Saturday, October 3
Wolverine parents organizing
fall ball cookout and fund raising

It will be a long, exciting day of softball, Saturday, October 3, at the Reynolds DuPont Softball Field, Dover, DE.

Three teams will be in town that day -- Chesapeake Skipjacks, Del Tech Roadrunners, and our Wesley Wolverines -- for a quadruple header (4 games) starting at 10:00 AM and ending near sunset 28 innings later!

PARENTS PARTICIPATION

While fall ball provides coaches an opportunity to preview talent in actual games prior to the 2016 season next spring, many parents of players also will be busy with -- and are planning right now -- both a Wolverine picnic and a separate fund-raising effort on the day.

FALL BALL COOKOUT CONTRIBUTIONS

Last year, the Hoffman family threw a surprise cookout for parents and players on the last game of the season.

It was a feast of grilled hamburgers, ribs, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salads and deserts.

For the coming quadruple header, similar plans are in the works, though this time more families will be involved. Head Coach Juli Greep has already asked players to contribute to the spread.

Families attending the Oct. 3 games are asked to contribute a dish to the festivities.

Sophomore #99 OF Lauren Hoffman (Middletown, DE) is currently circulating among her teammates a sign up sheet for parents to volunteer special plates, meats, goodies or refreshments for the afternoon treat.

If you have questions about the Oct. 3 fall ball cookout, please contact Mark Hoffman.

FALL BALL FUND RAISING HELP

Besides the planned picnic “banquet”, parents also will be manning a small concession stand to raise funds for the Florida trek to The Spring Games next March 2016.

Players are being asked to contribute $10 in advance, which will be used to help stock the booth with items for sale, like chips, water, etc. Coach Greep also is working with a local fast food business for donations for the sale.

SPRING'S FLORIDA ACCOMMODATIONS

Families planning to attend The Spring Games, March 6-11, 2016, might be looking into accommodations now.

There may be over 300 teams participating in what the promoters call “the world's largest collegiate softball tournament.” Rooms near the Legends Way Ballfields may be booked early.
