ALL CONFERENCE STORY

ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS

Three Wolverine players selected
for the 2016 all-conference teams

The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) has announced their 2016 all-conference softball teams.

Not surprisingly, there are several Wesley Wesley Wolverines among those selected. They are...

Kayla Fromal
► FIRST TEAM ALL-CAC as a DESIGNATED PLAYER is senior #32 Kayla Fromal (Middletown, DE).
► SECOND TEAM ALL-CAC as a CATCHER is junior #18 Nina Marcano (Middletown, DE) and in the UTILITY role is sophomore #4 Samantha Burns (Magnolia, DE).

The honored players are from a Wolverine team that brought home five conference victories this year for the first time since the college joined the CAC softball competition.
Nina Marcano

It's also the first time that as many as three Wolverines on the softball squad have earned CAC all-conference recognition.

Plus, it's only the second time the fastpitch Wolverines have had a player on the CAC first team as well as that same player being a repeat choice from the previous year.

These dual back-to-back selections are Kayla Fromal's pick this year (2016) and last year (2015) as well as the current Wesley Assistant Coach Ashlyn Booth-Hare's honors when she played on the Wolverine's 2011 and 2010 softball teams.

Samantha Burns
The three with the 2016 all-conference laurels are all downstate Delawareans from Wesley's sophomore, junior and senior classes. Two, of course, remain eligible for play in 2017.

LINDSAY SIOK CAC INTERVIEW

Two questions below pulled
from longer Capitol Athletic Conference (CAC)
interview with junior #12 P Lindsay Siok ...

If you could give one piece of advice to elementary school children, what would that advice be?

"My advice would be don’t rush the process of growing up, stay young as long as you can and don’t neglect time with your family."
CLICK HERE for the full interview with
Wesley Wolverine junior #12 P Lindsay Siok (Milford, DE).

Name three (3) people, real or fictional, living or dead, that you'd like to have dinner with?

"I would like to have dinner with my grandmother that passed away many years ago. It has been so long and we were so close. I would love to hear her opinions on how things are now and how much we have all grown. Another person I would like to have dinner with would be Melissa McCarthy. I think she seems like an awesome person from watching her movies and it would be pretty awesome just to meet her. My mom and I watch the Ellen DeGeneres show together and the miracles she does for people is so inspiring and she just seems like a pretty great person."

HONOR ROLL: ASHLEY ROYER

For the Week of April 18, 2016. CLICK HERE for the full story.

Wesley Wolverine freshman #13 Utility Ashley Royer (Lititz, PA)

The Capital Athletic Conference report cites: Ashley Royer was Wesley's most consistent source of offense last week, reaching base in every game the Wolverines played. The freshman crushed a solo home run that ended up being the difference in an 8-7 win over Penn State Harrisburg. She also hit a two-run home run in a loss at Christopher Newport. Royer went 5-for-16 from the plate with three extra base hits and three RBIs.
